The Ladies of Carmel
The Ladies of Carmel are the women of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. We are of varying ages, occupations, marital status- everyone from stay at home moms to retired seniors. Our mission is to support our parish and the spiritual growth of all women in our parish community. We are a collection of small guilds that meet once a month from September through May . Meeting times and place of meeting vary and it is not necessary to attend every meeting. The guilds vary in the age of their members and their particular interests but all of them provide opportunities for faith , friendship , fun and support for their members . The smaller guilds come together to participate in various activities , projects and fund raisers throughout the year under the larger umbrella organization of the Ladies of Carmel
Our organization is one of service, dedication , caring and fellowship. We are women of all ages , single and married, stay at home mothers, retirees and those who work The Ladies of Carmel support a wide variety of activities and ministries: Social Outreach, OLMC school and Peninsula Catholic, Women's Retreat, Youth Ministry, dinners for Catholic Campus Ministry CNU students, the Poor Clare sisters of Barnhamsville, St.Vincent's Coat Closet to name a few. The Ladies of Carmel raise funds with Bake Sales, Garage Sales, Auctions, and Raffles. Through the years these fundraisers have made it possible for the Ladies of Carmel to meet many needs of the parish . We have contributed $60,000 to the Capital Campaign Fund, have helped to fund the Church Bell Tower ,contributed $12,000 to the construction of a new school playground , $45,000 towards the St. Michael Hall , $5,000 for a new sound system for the church and $5000 for new Communionware as well as provide furniture for the nursery, money towards the Kids Check system and $10,000 to assist newborns and their mothers in Pregnancy Outreach . We also collect coats and jeans for the homeless each year.
